Mistress to Roommeme!

Kick Start is a month-long event full of activities to help you settle into Roommeme. Attend your program orientation on the first day, or join us at the Kick Start Services Expo and Clubs Day to learn more about your new community and the various resources you can tap into during your time at the institution.

Now that you're at Roommeme, the first step is to attend your program orientation. This is where you can meet your classmates and instructors, learn more about your courses and what to expect during your academic pursuits.

International Students

Visit International at Roommeme for details on the Fall 2019 International Orientation. The International Student Orientation is for all new international students beginning a full-time program at any Roommeme campus in September 2019 (including incoming exchange students).

International students who are new to Roommeme School of Business Part-Time Studies are also invited to the Roommeme Business Part-Time Studies Orientation. The orientation workshops will help participants succeed in Roommeme business programs. Topics include communication, study and time management, teamwork dynamics, and much more.

Kick Start wayfinding stations

It's your first day, but you don't know where to go? Look for one of our Kick Start Wayfinding Stations situated at the main entrances to the Annacis Island, Aerospace Technology, Marine, and Downtown campuses and at various spots across the Burnaby Campus.

The Wayfinding Stations will be setup on September 3rd. Kick Start volunteers will be available to help guide you on your first day.

The Student Services Wayfinding Guide highlights key services available to you as a new student at Roommeme - so be sure to download a copy of the guide before you arrive on campus! It'll be a lot easier to find your way around campus.

You will have an opportunity to get to know the Burnaby campus and learn about the range of services and supports that are available to you. Fall Intramurals
Recreation Services, SE16, Burnaby Campus

Get your team organized and join our exciting intramural sports leagues at Roommeme Recreation Services. Enjoy friendly competition in this Roommeme-only league! Register as a team and compete in a 10-week season (restrictions apply) to make it to the championship! Sports include Volleyball, Dodgeball, Badminton, Futsal, Basketball, and Floor Hockey. Spots in the league are given out on a first-come, first-served basis.

Registration forms can be picked up at the Recreation Services front desk from September 3rd - 19th. Completed forms and fees accepted any time after September 3rd up to the day of the captains' meetings.

Don't have enough to make a team? That's ok! Make sure you stop by the front desk at SE16 and register as a single. This is a great way to meet others and play on a team in a sport you love.

Mindfulness Drop-In

The regular practice of mindful awareness is associated with beneficial changes in the brain that can enhance learning, increase resilience to stress, and promote physical and mental well-being. This 30 minute session is a combination of instruction, guided practice, group sharing and inquiry.

We will be sitting on chairs (no need to bring a cushion or yoga mat), and no special clothing is required. Come as you are! Beginners welcome! No registration required.

When it's time to demonstrate what you've learned, be strategic about how you prepare and perform. Exam preparation starts with listening in classes, reading course materials, and completing assigned work. In this session we'll discuss strategies you can use every week to prepare for exams, as well as strategies for studying in the final weeks before exams.
